New Nickname at Westhill

Dear Westhill Community,

On June 12, 2023, the Westhill Board of Education passed a resolution committing to changing our school nickname by the end of the 2024-2025 school year following a mandate from the State Education Department. After months of collaboration, planning, and community input, the Board of Education adopted a resolution at the Board of Education meeting this evening to change the district’s nickname to the Westhill Wolf Pack, effective July 1, 2025.

This timeline will allow our programs to utilize the nickname ‘Warriors’ through the 2024-2025 school year. During that time we will be engaged in a branding process centered on defining and enhancing the district's identity through cohesive imagery and messaging. Westhill seeks to create a recognizable brand that resonates with our stakeholders, school community, and becomes synonymous with the high level of achievement that we have come to expect in academics, athletics and the performing arts.

While the change to the Westhill Wolf Pack represents a shift, it does not diminish who we are as a community. The Wolf Pack embodies the values of strength, unity, and resilience, which align with the core values that have always been central to the identity of the Westhill community. The nickname may change, but the traditions and spirit of our school community remains intact.

As we move forward, we are reminded that the strength of the Pack is the wolf, and the strength of the wolf is in the Pack. Together, WE will continue to honor our past while embracing an exciting future. Let’s roll Wolf Pack!
